About The Event:
Sharing Down Syndrome of Arizona will host the 23rd annual Sharing Walk for Down syndrome to promote positive acceptance and awareness for all people with Down syndrome.
This FREE event will feature food trucks, exhibitors, obstacle courses and slide inflatables, carnival-style games with prizes, entertainment including some movie characters, and our very beloved DJ Ron playing the music we love to dance to!
Agenda:
8:30 am Registration opens – Families can enter the stadium and enjoy food trucks, inflatables, entertainment, and visit with exhibitors and entertainers.
9:30am The official program portion of our event begins – We will honor our country with the Pledge of Allegiance and the singing of the National Anthem – performed by members of our community with Down syndrome. We will distribute awards to citizens who support people with Down syndrome through employment, education, social work, and volunteerism.
10:15 am The Sharing Walk begins – Led by the Grand Marshal (the top fundraising team), the walk will start near the stage and continue around the stadium, ending by the food trucks in the registration area. This is a half-mile walk. Strollers, wagons, and wheelchairs are all welcome on the walking course.
10:45-12 pm Family Fun – Families can enjoy their time together with games, inflatables, and entertainers at the event.
The fundraiser allows the organization to continue to offer FREE support services to all families in Arizona who have (and love) a person with Down syndrome in their lives.
Team Fundraising Prizes for Our Next Sharing Walk for Down Syndrome:
For every team who raises $250, the team creator will receive a $25 Starbucks gift card.
For every team who raises $500, the team creator will receive a $50 AMEX gift card.
For every team who raises $1,000 or more, the team creator will receive a $100 AMEX gift card.
The top donor will receive a $200 AMEX gift card and will lead the Sharing Walk as the Grand Marshal.
The Grand Marshal will be announced on April 20, 2023.
Team Donations competing for the Grand Marshal/Top Donor award should be entered by 11:55pm on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 (Arizona Time).
