SDSA and its future…
The Board will be working on succession plans and strengthening the SDSA business model. It was recently announced that Angie Haddad will work with Gina Johnson as the new Assistant Executive Director of SDSA. Gina will continue to lead the organization, and train Angie on business operations. (Angie is pictured with her son, Jordan, at the 2020 Sharing Down Syndrome Drive Thru Walk Parade).
In addition, many policies and procedures will be updated and implemented, allowing for greater accountability and innovation to a changing workplace.
Even with all the changes, our mission remains the same: to educate and empower, but especially give hope to individuals who have Down syndrome so they may grow up to become independent self advocates.

From Gina Johnson, Our Executive Director
I want to give a shout out to Ron Anderson, owner of Whole Grain Bread Company
! (This business is located at 1244 S Val Vista Dr, Mesa, AZ 85204; open M0n-Sat 6am-6pm).
Many of you know our dear friend, Parker Bradshaw, has worked there for many years selling his delicious Parker’s Pretzels.
Well – now they’re really trying to torture me – by making my mouth water with their newest creation, Parker’s Pastries. They are filled with delicious fruit, but my favorite is the chocolate pastry. They are addictive to say the least – a true confession of a chocoholic. ❤️
At a recent board meeting to welcome new board members, we realized it was the birthday for dear ASU professor, Dr. Shannon Ringenbach, so of course we had to celebrate with these wonderful creations.
Let us know of the entrepreneurs in your life with DS. Send stories to firstname.lastname@example.org.

Pool Party Fun at Gila Bend SDSA Chapter
“I wanted to share the success of our Sharing Down Syndrome pool party. It was August 7th at the local community pool.
We had around (10) individuals with Down syndrome attend, 65 people total. We swam and ate pizza. I think everyone had a great time! It’s been awhile since we’ve done any activities for Sharing Down syndrome. Thanks for all you do for our community!”
