ASU students write about the impact of their recent meeting with our ambassadors

Each semester, our ambassadors are called on to work with Shannon Ringenbach’s students. Shannon is an Associate Professor of Exercise Science & Health Promotion and the Director of the Sensorimotor Development Research Lab at Arizona State University.
Here’s an excerpt from 2 students take aways from the meeting:
“Down syndrome does not make up the entire person. Everyone is different, and there is nothing wrong with being different.”
– Ashley C.
“There was so much visible kindness and happiness in this presentation that it really leaves us students thinking, ‘okay – what can we do to be better? How can we be more like them?’ People lash out at what they do not understand, but if we could meet more people like Parker, Eric and DJ, then there would be no way to find anything but pure joy among these individuals.”
